CURRICULUM FOR FAMILY MEDICINE

A number of textbooks of family medicine, both by foreign and Indian authors are available, from which family physicians follow their career requirements. The nature of the curriculum of training programmes in family medicine, time duration, evaluation, pattern of examination, etc. varies from country to country.

Given below are two sets of curriculum prescribed –

(A) - By The Scientific Working Group meeting for the Development of a


Core Curriculum in Family Medicine for South-East Asia Region.

(Consisting of WHO member countries Bangladesh , Indonesia , Myanmar , Nepal ,
Sri Lanka , Thailand , and India ), held at Colombo , Sri Lanka , 9 – 13 June 2003.
